Shower Door Repair

Most shower door problems start with a small part, not the glass. Fixing that part is usually all the door needs.

Rollers and Tracks

Sliding shower doors that drag, jump the track, or slam at the end of the run usually have worn or dirty rollers. We replace the rollers, clean and true the track, and rehang the door so it glides again.

Hinges, Handles, and Hardware

Hinged and pivot doors sag when hinges loosen or wear out. We replace hinges, handles, towel bars, and latches, and adjust the door so it closes squarely against the frame or the wall.

Leaks, Seals, and Sweeps

Water at the bottom of the door or along the edges points to a worn sweep, a hardened seal, or a door that no longer hangs level. We replace the sweep and seals and check the alignment, because a crooked door keeps leaking even with new parts.

Shower Glass Replacement

A cracked, chipped, or shattered panel needs to be replaced, not patched. Shower enclosures are made with tempered safety glass, and a panel with a crack or a chipped edge should not stay in service. We measure the opening, replace the panel, and reuse the existing hardware when it is in good shape. Replacing shower glass is part of our wider glass replacement work, which covers windows and doors as well.

Cloudy Glass Is Not Always a Replacement Job

Hard water film and light etching sit on the surface of the glass. When that is the only problem, glass polishing and restoration can bring a cloudy panel back to clear, and the enclosure stays right where it is.

New Shower Door Installation

If the old door is beyond saving, or you are updating a bathroom, we install new shower doors and glass enclosures over tubs and in walk-in showers. We measure the opening on site and walk you through the options before anything is ordered. Bathroom updates often include a new wall mirror as well, and we can quote both together; see mirror installation and replacement.

  • Sliding and bypass doors for tubs and wide openings.
  • Hinged and pivot doors for walk-in showers.
  • Framed, semi-frameless, and frameless glass.
  • Fixed glass panels and return panels.

Residential and Commercial Properties

We work on shower doors in single-family homes, condos, and multi-unit buildings, and in commercial properties with shower rooms. Where a building office or property manager is involved, we coordinate access with them.

How a Shower Door Job Works

  1. Free in-home estimate. We look at the door, the glass, and the hardware, and tell you whether it needs a repair or a replacement.
  2. Measuring and ordering. For new glass or a new door, we measure the opening on site and order what the job needs.
  3. Repair or installation. We fit the new parts or the new door, set the hardware, and adjust until the door closes and seals properly.
  4. Testing and cleanup. We run the door through its full range, check the seals, and clean up before we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a shower door be repaired instead of replaced?

Usually, yes. Worn rollers, loose hinges, tired seals, and a misaligned door are all repair jobs, and the glass stays in place. Replacement is only needed when the glass itself is cracked or chipped.

Can you replace just one glass panel in a frameless enclosure?

Yes, we can. A broken panel can be replaced without replacing the whole enclosure, as long as the hardware and the remaining glass are in good shape.

Why is my shower door leaking at the bottom?

Most often it is a worn bottom sweep or a hardened seal, and both are quick to replace. A door that has dropped out of level can cause the same leak, so we check how it hangs before swapping parts.

Can you install a new shower door on a tub and in a walk-in shower?

Both, actually. We measure the opening on site and fit sliding or hinged doors to tubs and to walk-in showers.

Can cloudy shower glass be restored?

Often, yes. Hard water film and light etching can be polished off the surface of the glass, which saves replacing a panel that is otherwise sound. Deep etching or damage that goes through the glass needs a new panel.

Do you work on shower doors in commercial properties?

Yes, we do. Multi-unit buildings and commercial properties with shower rooms are part of our shower door work, along with homes and condos.
