South Florida’s insects and outdoor lifestyle make quality window and door screens essential. Atlantic Window Repair fabricates and installs replacement screens on-site for windows, doors, pool enclosures, and specialty applications across Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
Screen Types
Standard Window Screens
We cut and build replacement screen inserts for virtually any window opening — single-hung, double-hung, casement, awning, sliding — using aluminum frames. Screens are measured and built on-site to exact fit.
Sliding Door Screens
Sliding screen doors take heavy daily use and are prone to frame bending, torn mesh, and worn rollers. We replace screen mesh, repair or replace aluminum frames, and replace rollers and latches to restore smooth operation.
Pool Enclosure Screens
Pool cage rescreening is one of the most common screen services in South Florida. Storm damage, age, and UV degradation cause pool enclosure screens to tear, sag, and separate from spline channels. We rescreen individual panels or full enclosures using heavy-duty fiberglass mesh rated for Florida conditions.
Retractable Screens
Retractable screen mesh and cassette components can wear out over time. We service, repair, and replace mesh cartridges and hardware for retractable screen systems (see also: Retractable Screens service page).
Screen Materials
Standard Fiberglass Mesh
The most common screen material — flexible, rust-proof, and cost-effective. Available in charcoal and grey. Suitable for standard window and door applications.
Aluminum Mesh
More rigid and durable than fiberglass. Resists denting and holds its shape better over time. A good option for high-traffic areas.
Pet-Resistant Screen
Heavy-duty vinyl-coated polyester mesh, approximately 7x stronger than standard fiberglass. Resists clawing and pushing from pets without tearing.
Solar / Sun Screen
Open-weave PVC-coated mesh that blocks solar heat and glare while maintaining outward visibility. Reduces indoor temperatures and UV exposure — particularly useful on west- and south-facing exposures in South Florida.
Privacy Screen
Dense mesh that limits visibility from outside while maintaining airflow. Popular for ground-floor windows and patio areas.
No-See-Um (20×20 Mesh)
Tighter weave mesh designed to block tiny biting insects common in coastal South Florida — no-see-ums (biting midges), gnats, and small mosquitoes. Slightly reduces airflow compared to standard mesh.
Pool Enclosure Mesh
Heavy-duty 18×14 or 20×20 fiberglass mesh designed for the exposure and physical demands of pool cage applications.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you rescreen just one damaged panel in my pool cage?
Yes. We can rescreen individual panels without replacing the entire enclosure frame.
How long do replacement screens last?
Standard fiberglass mesh typically lasts 7–10 years in South Florida conditions. Heavy-duty and pet-resistant mesh can last longer. Pool enclosure screens generally need replacement every 5–10 years depending on exposure.
Do you come to the property to measure and build screens?
Yes — we measure, fabricate, and install on-site. You don’t need to bring anything in.
What’s the difference between solar screen and a regular screen?
Solar screen blocks 60–80% of solar heat and UV before it enters through the glass, which can meaningfully reduce cooling loads. It reduces natural light slightly more than standard mesh but maintains outward visibility.
Can pet-resistant screen be installed on existing frames?
Yes, as long as the frame is structurally sound. We rescreen the existing frame with pet-resistant mesh, or fabricate a new frame if needed.
