Impact Windows in Coconut Creek
Coconut Creek is in Broward County, and Broward has some of the strictest window product requirements in the state. A window that is approved for use further north is not automatically approved here. That is the part most homeowners find out late, usually after buying.
We install Florida-approved impact windows and doors, and we confirm what applies to your specific property at the estimate rather than after the order is placed.
What impact glass actually does: two or more layers of glass are bonded together by a plastic interlayer. When something strikes the pane, the glass cracks but the interlayer holds it in the frame. The opening stays sealed. That is the difference between a broken window and a hole in the side of your house during a storm. It is also why impact glass is harder to break through for anyone trying to get in.
The rest of the year it does two quieter things. It cuts road noise, which matters along Lyons Road, Sample Road and the Turnpike corridor, and it reduces solar heat gain, which shows up on the cooling bill.
Full technical detail is on our hurricane impact glass replacement page. If your frames are sound and only the glass needs upgrading, that is often the cheaper route.
