Not every damaged screen needs to be rebuilt. A quick look at the frame usually settles it.
Rescreening is enough when:
- The window screen frame is straight, square, and solid
- Only the mesh is torn, stretched, or full of pinholes
- The spline has worked its way out of the groove
- A pull tab, clip, or corner key has snapped off
Full replacement of window screens makes more sense when:
- The frame is bent, cracked, or corroded at the bottom rail
- Corners have separated and the frame no longer holds square
- The screen never fit the opening properly to begin with
- Several screens on the same elevation are the same age and in the same shape

Standard Window Screens
We build replacement inserts for single-hung, double-hung, casement, awning, and sliding windows. Aluminum frames are cut, joined, and screened on site to the measurements we take at your home. This is also the service most homeowners need after a replacement window goes in and the old screen no longer seats in the new frame.
Sliding Door Screens
Sliding screen doors take more traffic than any other screen in the house. The usual failures are torn mesh, a bowed frame, flattened rollers, and a broken pull tab or latch. We replace the mesh, straighten or rebuild the frame, and fit new rollers so the door glides instead of having to be shoved. Hardware faults on the glass panel itself fall under.
Pool Enclosure Screens
Pool cages lose panels to storms, UV, and simple age. Panels sag, pull away from the spline channel, and split along the seams. We rescreen a single panel or the full enclosure with heavy-duty mesh rated for Florida exposure.
Retractable Screens
Retractable screen mesh and cassette components wear out over time. We service, repair, and replace mesh cartridges and hardware, and full retractable screen systems are covered separately.
Screen Mesh Options
Mesh choice changes how a screen holds up, how much air moves through it, and how much heat it keeps out. These are the options we carry.
- Fiberglass mesh. The default on most Miami homes. Fiberglass screens are flexible, rustproof, and the least expensive to replace. Available in charcoal and grey.
- Aluminum mesh. Stiffer than fiberglass and better at holding its shape. Worth the upgrade on large openings and high-traffic doors.
- Pet-resistant mesh. Vinyl-coated polyester, roughly seven times stronger than standard fiberglass. Stands up to claws and to a dog leaning on it.
- Solar mesh. Open weave PVC coated mesh that blocks most of the solar heat and glare before it reaches the glass. Best on west- and south-facing walls.
- Privacy mesh. Dense weave that cuts the view in from outside while still letting air through. Common on ground-floor windows and patios.
- No see-um mesh (20×20). A tight weave built to stop biting midges, gnats, and the smallest mosquitoes along the coast. Airflow drops slightly compared with standard mesh.
- Pool cage mesh (18×14 or 20×20). Heavy-duty fiberglass made for the span and exposure of enclosure panels.
How We Replace a Window Screen
The whole job happens at your property. Nothing gets sent out and nothing gets left half-finished.
- Measure. We remove the screens from the openings and measure each frame at the sash, not at the glass. Sizes drift from window to window even along the same wall, so every opening gets its own number.
- Pick the mesh and the frame color. We go over the options above and match the existing frames where we can.
- Build the frame. Aluminum stock is cut to length and locked together with corner keys, then checked for square.
- Screen it. The mesh is stretched over the window screen frame and rolled into the groove with new spline. The excess is trimmed with a utility knife along the outside edge of the channel.
- Fit the hardware. New pull tabs, clips, spring pins, or tension springs go on so the screen seats firmly and still comes back out without a fight.
- Install and check. Each screen goes back into its opening, gets tested in the track, and gets adjusted if it drags.

Frames with separated corners, bowed rails, arched tops, or oversized openings are usually faster and cheaper to hand off, because a rebuilt frame costs less than buying the tooling once.
